"The Walking Dead" universe is alive and well, even if most of its inhabitants are not.
With six spinoffs and counting, characters from the original series continue to live on in new content even after the end of the mainstay show in 2022. One of the most-loved original characters, Daryl Dixon (Norma Reedus), got the series star treatment with 2023's "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," in which Daryl washes up on the shores of France and embarks on a journey to figure out how and why.
Originally titled "The Walking Dead: Daryl & Carol," the initial six-episode season was supposed to also heavily feature the character Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), but she was later written out due to filming conflicts. Now, however, Carol is back and will costar alongside her old friend in the new season, aptly titled "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol."
With Rick and Michonne off living their own postapocalyptic romantic adventure in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live," Daryl and Carol will seek answers and each other in their own storyline, even as the Atlantic Ocean lies between them.
Here's what to know about the upcoming premiere of "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol."
