Riverdale alum Vanessa Morgan is expanding her family.
The 32-year-old is pregnant and due to soon give birth to her second baby, her first with boyfriend James Karnik. On July 6, the actress shared photos from their maternity photo shoot, which includes pics of the 6'9" Canadian basketball player using one arm to carry her while covering her baby bump with his other hand.
"So in love with this man, our family of 4 coming this month," Vanessa captioned her Instagram post. "#2 Suprise! Thank you GOD."
The Canadian actress, who shares son River, 3, with ex Michael Kopech—a Chicago White Sox pitcher—is expecting a baby girl, according to James. The Vancouver Bandits player, wrote on his own Instagram, alongside another photo from the maternity shoot, "Holdin BOTH my girls at the same time."
Vanessa received a slew of congratulatory messages from fans and friends, including fellow Riverdale alum Madelaine Petsch, who commented on her former costar's post, "I love you both" and also noted, "The way he lifts you with one arm."
It was not easy for the Wild Cards actress to keep her pregnancy under wraps in recent months as she continued making red carpet appearances.
"Was 3 months pregnant here," she wrote on her Instagram Stories, alongside a photo of herself wearing a strapless red Zuhair Murad gown with a ruffled tulle and lace train at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards in January, "almost couldn't zip this dress up."
Vanessa and James, 25, began dating in 2022, about two years after her ex filed for divorce, weeks before she announced her pregnancy with River.
"Part of the biggest thing is that embarrassment, it's not wanting to face that you have a broken family," Vanessa told Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen on the March 11 episode of their podcast Broad Ideas. "You get married and you want to have that fantasy. You feel disappointed to tell people that it didn't work out."
She continued, speaking about James, "I'm so happy I have such a good partner, but that pain, I don't wish it on anybody."
